Lecture 1 of 8, Part 2 of 8 includes: grace, after you have done your efforts, Vedas, when you cry from all your efforts, field of mind expands and you go beyond the unconscious, domain of peace and happiness, most believe in God from convenience, we ask God for help, partially we all believe in God and partially agnostic, Agnomen did not believe in God, life is a question, mind and creator, limitations of mind, we remember sutra yogash chitta vritti nirodhah, sutra is abstruse and complete, yoga sutras are not meant for student for they will drive you crazy, yoga sutras are for teachers who have studied from competent teachers, in ancient times sutras were not taught by somebody not an adept or yogi, yogi is one who has attained highest state of samadhi, samadhi is state where there are no questions, lead your mind to that state by training it, historians try to find and search about Patanjali life, could not find out about Patanjali, students in academic way did not know chitta vritti, academic way cannot tell of how sweet tastes, monastic way says here is the sweet to eat to taste it, Buddhist borrowed from this text, Mahayana Buddhism, Hinayana, Jainism, all borrowed from this text, Upanishads full of yoga teachings, no religion …
